Decomposed Body Found Near Santa Paula River

A grim discovery was made on July 11 when authorities found a body in an advanced state of decomposition near the Santa Clara river bottom in Santa Paula. Police were alerted to the scene, located just south of the 600 block of Cornell Drive, around 11:30 a.m. due to a report from a concerned individual. Upon arrival, officers confirmed the presence of the body, but its advanced decomposition prevented immediate identification or determination of the cause of death.
