Body Found Near Ohio Creek: Investigation Underway

A significant discovery was made near Little Darby Creek in central Ohio over the weekend when kayakers reported finding a woman partially in the water. Responding West Jefferson Police officers confirmed the individual was deceased at the scene.
The woman was identified as Cynthia Wood, 52, a resident of Covington. Her vehicle was subsequently located and taken into police custody for processing as evidence.
During the investigation of the area, which features steep embankments approximately 50 feet high leading to the creek, officers found several items of evidentiary value. These included clear bags containing a white powdery substance, which is believed to be a controlled substance. The police department has indicated that the investigation is continuing but has assured the public that there is currently no indication of a threat.
