A late-night dispute over missing chicken pieces in a biryani order culminated in a violent confrontation at Victoria Hotel in Bharathnagar on Thursday night, May 1, 2026. The incident began when 21-year-old car driver P Arun alleged that the biryani packets he received contained no chicken. Arun returned to the hotel with friends to question the owner, Mohin, which led to an argument. Mohin and his staff reportedly assaulted Arun with a cooking spoon, causing a head injury that required eight stitches. Arun also claimed his motorcycle and his friends' motorcycles were damaged. The hotel owner and staff countered with their own complaint, alleging Arun and his group caused a disturbance after the hotel had closed. They claimed the group vandalized property, threw sofas, and attacked them with stones and sticks. Police have initiated an investigation by serving notices to both parties and registering cases under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for causing hurt and mischief.
