A 17-year-old male has been charged with attempted murder after a shooting in Birmingham left a 16-year-old boy with critical, life-threatening injuries. The incident took place in Bowyer Road, Alum Rock, shortly before 5:30 PM BST on Wednesday.
The West Midlands Police confirmed the victim's critical condition as he continues to receive hospital treatment. The 17-year-old suspect has also been charged with possession of a firearm with the intent to endanger life.
He has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court on Friday. Detective Inspector Francis Nock urged anyone with information, including dashcam or doorbell footage, to come forward. Police patrols are increased in the area to provide community reassurance.
