Bihar Courts Get Vulnerable Witness Centers Soon

Chief Justice of Patna High Court, Sangam Kumar Sahoo, has called for enhanced hygiene and cleanliness standards within courtrooms throughout Bihar. Speaking at a felicitation event, Justice Sahoo highlighted the connection between a clean environment and clear judicial thinking, urging cooperation from legal professionals.
Furthermore, Justice Sahoo revealed plans to establish Vulnerable Witnesses Deposition Centers (VWDCs) in all district courts across Bihar. These centers will feature specially equipped rooms operating under stringent safety measures. Their purpose is to allow vulnerable individuals, including children, sexual assault survivors, persons with disabilities, and the elderly, to provide testimony safely and without intimidation.
The introduction of these VWDCs is considered a cornerstone of the justice delivery system, with assurances from state government officials for their implementation in every district. The aim is to ensure that all vulnerable witnesses can render their evidence in a secure and conducive atmosphere.
