A "Rose Day" celebration in Bihar's Munger district has led to legal repercussions for a woman and her husband after videos of them displaying alcohol surfaced online. Kanchan Devi reportedly posted a video of herself giving her husband a rose, followed by serving him wine and a bottle of liquor, which contravened the state's stringent prohibition laws.
Further complicating matters, a separate photograph emerged showing Devi posing with a pistol inside a beauty parlor. Prompted by the viral images, Munger police formed a special team to investigate the incidents. A raid on the woman's home confirmed the pistol was a licensed weapon belonging to Vishal Kumar.
Police have since registered a case against both Kanchan Devi and the weapon's owner, Vishal Kumar, for the illegal display of a weapon and promoting banned substances. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the matter.
