A tragic incident has unfolded in Bihar's Nalanda district, where the body of an eight-year-old boy, Ankit Kumar, was found on Tuesday morning. The child, identified as the son of Niranjan Kumar, a driver from Patna, was discovered with a rope tied around his neck. The discovery has sent shockwaves through the community, prompting immediate protests from local residents.
The boy had been missing since Monday evening, last seen leaving his home to play. His disappearance was reported to the police, but villagers later found his body in a field. The discovery led to an immediate blockade of the Karauta-Rajgir Highway-78 by angered family members and villagers demanding justice and the swift apprehension of those responsible for the heinous crime.
Authorities have launched a thorough investigation, sending the body for a postmortem and utilizing a dog squad and FSL team to collect evidence. Preliminary findings suggest strangulation, with marks on the victim's neck. The investigation is exploring the possibility that the boy's father's extramarital affair with a woman from Barh sub-division is linked to the murder, as the woman had allegedly made threats after the father shared an intimate video.
