NIA Raid Uncovers Bihar's Illegal Ammunition Pipeline
7 Mar
Summary
- NIA busted a supply chain diverting legal ammo to Bihar.
- Key arrests include UP supplier and Haryana gun house owners.
- Raid targeted 23 locations across three North Indian states.

In December (of last year, relative to March 2026), the National Investigation Agency (NIA) launched a significant operation targeting a clandestine supply chain. This network was responsible for diverting legally manufactured ammunition and factory-grade weapons into the illicit grey market.
The investigation led to multiple arrests across three North Indian states. Notable apprehensions included Kamal Kant, known as 'Uncleji,' operating out of Auraiya in Uttar Pradesh, and the owners of a government-recognized gun house in Kurukshetra, Haryana, identified as Vijay and Kush Kalra. These individuals were instrumental in sourcing the ammunition.
The NIA's multi-state raids, conducted at 23 locations in Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar, revealed a clear pattern: all diverted ammunition was ultimately flowing into Bihar. This operation successfully disrupted a critical node in the illegal arms trade, impacting several regions in northern India.
