- The victim, a 42-year-old woman, was found dead in 2025.
- Police confirmed no evidence of intimate partner violence.
In Bible Hill, Nova Scotia, a significant development has occurred in a 2025 death investigation. Lee Andrew MacDonald, 49, has been charged with second-degree murder.
MacDonald was apprehended on Tuesday and subsequently made his initial court appearance at Truro provincial court on Wednesday. He is currently being held in custody pending further legal proceedings.
The case dates back to the morning of January 3, 2025, when law enforcement responded to a wellness check at a residence on Bomber Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered the body of a 42-year-old woman.
An unconscious man, later identified as MacDonald, was also discovered at the scene and transported to a local hospital for medical attention.
Initially deemed suspicious, the woman's death was officially classified as a homicide by the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service. While the RCMP confirmed that MacDonald and the victim knew each other, early investigations found no evidence to suggest the incident involved intimate partner violence.
Authorities reiterated on Wednesday that ongoing investigations have not uncovered any evidence to link the homicide to intimate partner violence.
