A shocking incident in Bhopal saw a 45-year-old woman, Durga Bai Kushwaha, fatally stabbed nine times in the chest, three times in the abdomen, and once in the neck. The alleged assailant was Pritam Kushwaha, a man who had been living in her house for nearly a year. Kushwaha had recently been released from prison after serving a 15-year sentence for the murder of his own children.
Family members reported that Durga and her family had been pressuring Pritam to leave the house for several months, leading to frequent arguments. On Monday, while Durga's husband and son were away, Pritam reportedly lured her to an under-construction house nearby, where he committed the brutal attack with a sharp weapon.
Following the murder, Pritam Kushwaha is believed to have jumped in front of a moving train, resulting in his death. Police have secured the scene and are examining the murder weapon, forensic samples, and collecting statements from family members to piece together the events leading to this tragedy.
