On October 21, 2025, an accountant in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh was the victim of a violent robbery after being lured to a meeting on a queer dating app. The accountant had connected with a man named Rohit Rajput on the app, and the two agreed to meet in a secluded area of Bhopal's MP Nagar.
When the accountant arrived, Rajput and his accomplice allegedly assaulted him, snatched his mobile phone, and accessed his UPI account. They then proceeded to make several unauthorized transactions, purchase jewelry, and even fill up their car with Rs 1,000 worth of petrol. The accused also threatened the victim, warning him not to report the incident.
The accountant has since filed a complaint with the local police, who have launched an investigation into the matter. However, the police have faced some delays in the process. As of November 1, 2025, the accused individuals remain at large, and the police are working to apprehend them and recover the stolen funds.
