Two individuals, Suresh Jat and Abhishek Vaishnav, ascended a mobile tower in Gulabpura, Bhilwara on Saturday. Their protest stemmed from the alleged removal of a 25-year-old Lord Shiva idol that had been placed near Nanga Ji Kheda village approximately 25 years ago.
The idol, reportedly positioned by a Delhi-based businessman with intentions of building a temple, was allegedly taken by residents of Luhariya village. The protesters claimed that local authorities and police had not acted on their demands for the idol's retrieval, prompting the tower climb.
Local law enforcement and administrative officials, including Gulabpura SHO Sanjay Gurjar, were present at the scene, engaging in efforts to safely bring the men down. The SHO noted that the idol had been by the roadside for years and its removal had sparked concern among villagers from over a dozen surrounding areas.
