Following the assault, the suspect entered his vehicle and drove directly at the victim, running him over. Emergency services responded, and the injured man was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he later passed away from his injuries. The victim's identity has not yet been released by authorities.
Police quickly apprehended the suspect, identified as 54-year-old Christopher Cornelius of San Bernardino. He was detained by officers shortly after the incident, despite attempting to flee to a nearby building. Cornelius, who has a documented history of violent crimes, was booked into the Beverly Hills jail on suspicion of murder, with his bail set at $2 million.
