Adugodi Woman's Death: Locked Room, Cut Marks Raise Questions

In Adugodi, Bengaluru, a 34-year-old private company employee, Puja Dutta, was found dead on Monday night. Her body was discovered in a decomposed state inside her third-floor rented house, where she had lived alone for three years. Neighbors reported a foul odor, prompting the house owner to contact the police. Upon arrival, authorities found the door locked from the inside with three bolts. A locksmith was called to gain entry, revealing the victim's body naked and in an advanced state of decomposition, indicating she may have passed away at least three days prior.

The condition of the body, including visible cut marks and the presence of blood, has raised suspicions of foul play, although the internally locked door suggests suicide. Torn papers were scattered in the room, and a table fan was found on beside the body. Puja, who was unmarried and originally from Jharkhand, reportedly had frequent arguments with a male visitor. Police are currently examining her phone records and questioning acquaintances to ascertain the cause of death and identify the visitor.

The house owner mentioned that Puja often played loud music and had been warned previously. The last known sighting of Puja was on the preceding Thursday, when a potential renter visited the property. Investigations are ongoing by Adugodi police, and the exact cause of death awaits the post-mortem report.
