Thieves' Leap Lands Them in Drain, Injured

In a dramatic turn of events, two alleged mobile snatchers in Bengaluru sustained leg fractures after leaping into a stormwater drain while attempting to flee the police. Parveez Khan, 29, and Zubairuddin, 28, were apprehended after a failed escape that saw them assault two constables before their jump. The suspects had been taken for a spot verification related to a recent mobile theft.

Their escape plan went awry near Kurilingappa Garden when they requested a stop for a supposed toilet break. Pushing past officers, they jumped from a bridge into the drain below, only to land on stones, causing their injuries. Khan suffered leg injuries and fractured fingers, while Zubairuddin fractured his ankle.

Despite the ordeal, police quickly recaptured the injured suspects. Both men are believed to be involved in at least eight robbery cases each. Following medical treatment, they have been taken back into police custody, their bid for freedom abruptly ended by their own desperate actions and the unforgiving drain.
