A migrant woman from Bihar was allegedly murdered by her husband in Bengaluru's outskirts, with her body remaining undiscovered for nearly five days. Neighbours reported a foul smell emanating from the couple's rented accommodation, leading to the discovery of the highly decomposed body of Reema Kumari, wrapped in a bedsheet. Her husband, Dheeraj Kumar, is the prime suspect.
The couple had relocated to Bengaluru from Bihar approximately one year prior, seeking employment in a local factory. Investigators believe Dheeraj Kumar committed the murder several days before fleeing to his native state. Police have initiated a manhunt to apprehend him and are examining CCTV footage and other evidence to determine the motive.
The body has been transferred to a mortuary for a postmortem examination. Residents described the couple as friendly, noting they were in a love marriage before moving to the city. The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Kumbalagodu Police Station.
