Bengaluru Man Strangles Wife Over Finances, Dumps Body

In Bengaluru, Sagar Chandra Rawat, 32, was apprehended for allegedly killing his wife. The couple reportedly had an argument over financial matters on August 11, escalating to an assault and strangulation that resulted in her death. Rawat, originally from Odisha, allegedly kept his wife's body at their MS Nagar home for approximately three days.
He then wrapped the body in a bedsheet, tied it with a rope, and disposed of it at a vacant plot in MS Nagar around midnight. The highly decomposed remains were discovered on September 2 by workers cleaning the plot. Identification was challenging due to the body's condition, but a mall tag and a Ganesha pendant aided investigators.
Rawat, who came to Bengaluru about five years ago and married Anusuya two years ago, was staying on the premises of the hotel where they both worked. He confessed to the crime during interrogation after investigators uncovered inconsistencies in his statements. The body was later given a last rites ceremony by police and locals.
