Bengaluru Man Arrested for Threatening to Bomb Metro Station

On November 13, 2025, the Bengaluru police arrested a 50-year-old Kadugodi resident, BS Rajiv, for allegedly sending a hoax email to the Shantinagar office of the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL). In the email, Rajiv claimed he would blast the Metro station if his wife Padmini was forced to work beyond her office hours.
Following the threat, BMRCL officials lodged a complaint with the Wilsongarden police. Rajiv, a divorcee, was subsequently arrested. According to reports, he appears to be mentally disturbed and has been shifted to the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (Nimhans) for evaluation.
The incident has caused concern among the city's commuters, who rely on the Metro system for their daily travel. The authorities have assured the public that they are taking the matter seriously and have implemented additional security measures to ensure the safety of passengers.
