Two women in Bengaluru experienced a harrowing 40-second ordeal when an assailant attacked them in their home. The incident occurred on Wednesday around 10:30 AM in Kadusonnappanahalli, Nagaragiri Township, on the first floor of a residential complex. Anuja, 25, and her mother-in-law Kalavathi, 48, were alone when the man, wearing a monkey cap and wielding a knife, entered the house.
He first threatened Kalavathi, stealing her mangalya chain, before turning his attention to Anuja, who sustained an injury to her hand while trying to intervene. Kalavathi also suffered bruises during the aggressive robbery. The suspect made off with both women's gold mangalya chains, valued at over Rs 8 lakh.
The perpetrator then locked the victims inside the house and escaped via the same route he used to enter, climbing between adjacent buildings. Neighbors, alerted by the screams, assisted the women after discovering the locked door. Bagalur police have registered a case and are examining CCTV footage from the vicinity to identify the well-built suspect, described as being aged 25-30 and wearing brown clothing.
