A Bengaluru software engineer has filed a complaint against an alleged Ayurvedic guru and a shop owner, accusing them of defrauding him of approximately Rs 48 lakh. The victim claims he sought treatment for sexual problems and was prescribed exorbitantly priced herbal medicines, leading to kidney damage. The accused allegedly used threats to ensure continued purchases of these costly remedies.
In a separate incident within the city, police have apprehended three suspects involved in an armed robbery and assault. The arrests followed an operation where officers seized firearms, a mobile phone, and a two-wheeler. The suspects allegedly intercepted a man, attacked him, and stole his belongings at gunpoint.
Authorities are continuing their investigations into both cases. The Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita has been cited in the fraud case, while the robbery investigation is ongoing with the recovered items being central to the ongoing probe. The police department stated that further interrogations are expected to yield more information.
