In Bengaluru, a 16-year-old boy and his mother have been apprehended following the fatal stabbing of a woman and her brother. The victims, Yamuna Mallegowda, 36, and her brother Sudeep, 34, were discovered deceased with numerous stab wounds in their residence at HMT Layout, Peenya.
Authorities are investigating the role of the mother, who is suspected of involvement in the alleged extramarital affair with the victim's husband. This relationship had reportedly caused significant disputes between the families, which were previously reported to the police.
The incident escalated when the accused mother allegedly summoned Yamuna to her home on Thursday. A fight ensued, culminating in the discovery of the victims by neighbors. The boy had reportedly confined himself to a room, while his mother was found weeping.
