Beloved Food Truck Regular Gunned Down in Tragic Shooting

On November 7th, 2025, a tragic incident occurred near Raquel Osorio's food truck on Blalock Road and Kempwood Avenue in Houston. Osorio, who had been serving dinner to her customers that Friday night, was saddened by the absence of one of her regular weekend patrons, Gerardo Villalobos Salgado.

Salgado, a 50-year-old man, had been a frequent customer at Osorio's food truck over the past two months. Osorio had grown fond of him, describing him as someone who would stay and chat, make others laugh, and bring a sense of joy to the establishment. However, on the night of November 7th, Salgado was found shot to death in his vehicle parked near Osorio's food truck.

The Houston Police Department has since identified the suspect as 41-year-old Edwin Leonel Caal Gill, who has been charged with Salgado's murder.
