Kittur police have apprehended five individuals involved in an interstate jewelry shop burglary. The thieves, consisting of four from Rajasthan and one from Madhya Pradesh, were arrested following a detailed investigation into the incident. The accused are identified as Nasir Singh, Dilip Singh, Lokesh Chiman, Ram Meghwal, Narendra Prabhuji, and Arjun Singh Dakhadiya.
The group is suspected of breaking into Manajja Jewellery Shop on the night of August 12. They reportedly forced open the shutter lock and made off with a substantial amount of silver jewelry. The police operation, coordinated under the guidance of Belagavi SP K Ramarajan, successfully recovered 7 kg of silver ornaments. The estimated value of the recovered jewelry amounts to Rs 17 lakh.
In addition to the stolen items, the police also seized a car valued at Rs 5 lakh, which is believed to have been used by the thieves to facilitate their escape. All arrested suspects have been presented before the court and remanded to judicial custody as the investigation continues.
