31 Oct
Summary
- Reality TV star Clayton Echard accused of paternity fraud
- Alleged victim claims Echard impregnated her, but he denies it
- Echard says woman has a "pattern of similar behavior" with other men

In a shocking twist, former Bachelor contestant Clayton Echard has found himself at the center of a paternity lawsuit drama. According to Echard, a woman named Laura Owens reached out to him after his appearance on the show, claiming she was pregnant with his child. Echard, however, maintains that he and Owens were never intimate, and the baby was not his.
The situation escalated when Owens filed a paternity lawsuit against Echard. Echard responded by requesting a paternity test, which Owens complied with five months later. In June 2024, the court ruled in Echard's favor, determining that Owens "knowingly presented a false claim." The court also recommended that Owens be investigated further, as Echard claimed to be in contact with other victims who had similar experiences with the woman.
Following the court battle, law enforcement raided Owens' house, and she is now facing seven felony charges for fraud and perjury. Echard's lawyer, Gregg Woodnick, expressed relief at the outcome, stating, "We hope this is the end of a long saga for all the victims."
