28 Feb
Summary
- Baby Jensen-Lee was fatally shaken by his mother's boyfriend.
- The attacker was sentenced to a minimum of 19 years in prison.
- The mother is left with a life sentence of grief and trauma.

A five-month-old baby, Jensen-Lee Dougal, was fatally shaken by his mother's boyfriend, Thomas Morgan, in a "rage-filled attack." Morgan received a minimum sentence of 19 years for the murder.
The court heard how Morgan shook Jensen-Lee so violently that the infant sustained injuries described as the worst ever seen by experts. CCTV footage showed the baby limp and lifeless as he was carried from the family home in Clydach, Swansea.
Morgan, who had been in a relationship with Jensen-Lee's mother for only a few months, attempted to conceal his actions with a web of lies, falsely claiming the baby had choked. However, medical evidence revealed catastrophic brain injuries akin to those from high-velocity impacts.
Jensen-Lee's mother expressed her profound grief, stating that Morgan's actions had given her a "life sentence of grief." She will never experience milestones like hearing her son say "I love you" or seeing him take his first steps. The child killer's lack of remorse was noted, especially as he announced a new partner's pregnancy on the anniversary of Jensen-Lee's death.
During the trial, it emerged that Morgan had been engaged in a 90-minute abusive text message argument with an ex-partner shortly before the fatal assault. He was alone with Jensen-Lee for a period during which the attack occurred. Paramedics attempted to save the baby, but he tragically died the following day after life support was switched off.
