Lawyer Slams Cops After Raid on Innocent Clients
28 Feb
Summary
- Attorney criticizes law enforcement's handling of raids.
- Clients allegedly suffered property damage during searches.
- Investigation into Nancy Guthrie's disappearance ongoing.

An attorney has publicly condemned law enforcement's approach to the investigation surrounding Nancy Guthrie's disappearance.
Chris Scileppi, representing Luke Daley, stated that his client was wrongly targeted in two search warrants executed weeks ago. Scileppi asserts Daley has no connection to Guthrie's case and expressed outrage over the detaining of his client and mother, along with the damage to their property.
Scileppi called the raids "rampant, unsubstantiated, and callous speculation," arguing they harm private citizens and make investigators appear ineffective. Guthrie was last seen on January 31st, and despite diligent searches and public assistance with alleged ransom notes, significant progress has not been reported. Another individual, Carlos, was also detained and later released.
The Pima County Sheriff's Department has not yet commented on the attorney's accusations. Scileppi indicated he is unaware of the specific information that led to the warrant being issued.
