Two Arrested Over Infant's Death Released on Bail

A one-year-old girl has died in Atherstone, Warwickshire, leading to the arrest of two individuals. Emergency services were called to a residence on Long Street on Friday afternoon, responding to a report of a child in cardiac arrest. The child was sadly pronounced dead at the scene shortly after.

Officers arrested a 19-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man at the location on suspicion of child neglect. Their arrests were later expanded to include suspicion of causing or allowing the child's death. The investigation is ongoing, with police awaiting post-mortem examination results.
