Two Arrested in Assam Murder Case Injured in Police Firing

Two men arrested for the murder of former CRPF jawan Biman Barua in Assam's Sivasagar district sustained injuries in separate police firing incidents within a three-day period. Investigators stated both accused allegedly attempted to attack or overpower police personnel during the course of the investigation.
The first incident occurred on September 19, when Vicky Singh, the alleged prime accused, reportedly tried to grab a police officer's weapon while being taken through an investigation process. Police fired a shot, hitting Singh in the right leg. Singh had allegedly fled to Nagaland after Barua's stabbing on September 18.
A second firing incident involved Md Rubul Khan on Monday night. Police had taken Khan to a location where they suspected the murder weapon was concealed. According to police, Khan attacked the Bihubar police station officer-in-charge with a sharp object, prompting Khan's personal security officer to fire, hitting him in the right leg.
Both injured men, Singh and Khan, are receiving treatment, with Khan referred to Assam Medical College and Hospital. Separate cases have been registered for the firing incidents, and both accused have been remanded to police custody. The investigation into the murder of Biman Barua is continuing.
