Aspiring Actor Arrested for Sexually Assaulting Minor Girl

On October 1, 2025, a 15-year-old girl in Rajkot, India filed a complaint against a 25-year-old man who had been sexually assaulting her for nearly a year and a half. The accused, who claimed to be a filmmaker, had allegedly lured the girl with the promise of roles in Gujarati movies.

Two years ago, the girl had responded to an Instagram post calling for people interested in a career in Gujarati cinema. She met the accused at his office, accompanied by her mother. Over the next few months, the man called the girl for "auditions" and "training sessions," telling her she needed to improve her acting skills. During one such session, he allegedly touched her inappropriately and attempted to kiss her.

Despite the girl's refusal to continue the sessions, the accused kept insisting she return, even contacting her mother. He then started summoning the girl to his office under the pretext of event management work, offering her spiked food and drinks. The man is accused of drugging and sexually assaulting the girl multiple times over the next 18 months, both at his office and his home, threatening to withhold movie roles if she reported the abuse.

The girl finally filed a complaint at the University police station on October 1, 2025. The accused has since been arrested and booked under relevant sections of the law.
