Jilted Soldier Slays Teenage Girlfriend in Orchard Killing

On November 18, 2025, an Army man was arrested for the brutal murder of his 17-year-old girlfriend in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj district. According to the police, the incident occurred on November 10 when the accused, identified as Deepak, allegedly took the teenager on his motorcycle to an orchard after calling her. He then slit her throat with a knife before burying the body there.

The victim's body was discovered five days later, on November 15. During the investigation, police learned that the teenager had been kidnapped on November 10 from the Cantonment area. After the post-mortem, the case was amended to include charges of murder.

Police were able to trace the suspect after finding a bag at the crime scene that contained a book with a name and phone number. A CCTV image also captured the accused taking the victim to the orchard on a motorcycle.

Deepak, the accused, allegedly confessed that he had been in a relationship with the victim after they connected on Instagram. However, the girl was reportedly pressuring him to marry her, even though he was set to marry another woman on November 30. The victim had been staying at her uncle's house in the Cantonment area to pursue her studies.
