25 Feb
Summary
- Armourer jailed for converting firearms and running drug lab.
- Organized crime leader received a 26-year sentence.
- Weapons were converted under the guise of a motorcycle repair business.

Dudley Brennan, an armourer from Kendal, has been incarcerated for over 22 years after converting firearms and establishing a crystal methamphetamine laboratory. Brennan worked alongside Peter Weston, a Liverpool-based crime group coordinator who was sentenced to nearly 27 years. Both men pleaded guilty to conspiring to sell prohibited weapons and Class A drugs.
Brennan's illegal activities involved converting at least two submachine guns and multiple pistols, operating under the guise of his motorcycle repair business in the Lake District. The National Crime Agency (NCA) discovered a firearms conversion factory and a crystal meth lab at his premises. Weston facilitated these sales by connecting other offenders with Brennan and was instrumental in coordinating the group's operations.
Further sentences were handed down to three other members of the crime group. Ryan Pilling received over 13 years, Daniel Fitzgerald was jailed for eight years for ordering firearms, and Joshua Ee received over 13 years for his role in discussing the sale of a converted weapon to a customer in Spain. The NCA highlighted the group's sole motivation of profit, disregarding the severe harm their actions could inflict on communities.
