Five Argentinian tourists have been arrested and deported from Florida following an alleged sophisticated shoplifting operation at Dolphin Mall. The group, who were reportedly in the United States for a bachelor party celebration, are accused of stealing more than $2,000 in merchandise from various stores within the mall.
Authorities apprehended the men on Sunday after off-duty officers noticed suspicious activity. Security footage allegedly showed the suspects entering the mall, grabbing suitcases, and proceeding to various stores including Burlington, Columbia, The North Face, and Tommy Hilfiger, stuffing items into their luggage before leaving. Recovered merchandise from two suspects alone exceeded $1,100.
The five men, identified as Juan Manuel Zuloaga-Arenas, Mauricio Ariel Aparo-Orlando, Diego Luis Xiccato, Juan Pablo Rua, and Sebastián Luis Moya, were charged with organized scheme to defraud, multiple robberies, and retail theft. Despite posting bail ranging from $3,500 to $5,000, they were deported to Argentina on Wednesday.
