In Belfast Crown Court, 22-year-old Marcus Fleming entered a guilty plea to the manslaughter of pensioner Anthony Miskimmon. The 74-year-old victim, known as Tony, passed away in hospital in November 2024. His death followed an assault on Station Road in Antrim where he was punched and rendered unconscious.
Fleming, from Cedarmount in Antrim, had initially denied the charge but was re-arraigned and admitted unlawfully killing Miskimmon. The court was also informed of Fleming's guilty pleas to two charges of criminal damage to a police vehicle, occurring in early November 2024.
Defence counsel indicated that a psychological report had been received, with a second medical report pending. A pre-sentence report is to be compiled by probation, while the Crown confirmed Victim Impact Statements will be made. Fleming was remanded back into custody, with his plea hearing scheduled for October 2.
