Gangster Anmol Bishnoi, a significant figure in the Bishnoi crime syndicate and brother of Lawrence Bishnoi, is being extradited from the United States to India. This move is pivotal for Indian authorities aiming to dismantle the gang's international network, which is believed to operate from North America. Bishnoi was reportedly detained by US authorities in November of last year.

Indian agencies have identified Anmol Bishnoi as the primary plotter in the October 2024 murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique. Evidence, including voice clips, allegedly contains Bishnoi's instructions motivating the assassination. He is also a wanted accused in the April 2024 firing incident outside actor Salman Khan's Mumbai home, where he claimed responsibility online.

Transcripts of audio chats suggest Bishnoi directed the shooters from abroad using secure communication apps. Investigations have also revealed broader plots by the Bishnoi brothers to carry out assassinations and procure advanced weapons. The Centre will now decide which agency takes custody of Bishnoi, who faces over 18 cases nationwide.
