Murder Suspect Slain in Amritsar Police Encounter

In a swift operation on Monday, Amritsar police fatally shot Raja Singh, a key suspect in the November 16 murder of Manjit Singh, a grocery store owner. The incident unfolded in Amritsar Rural following a tip that Singh was active in the area and allegedly planning another crime.
When confronted by police checkpoints, Raja Singh attempted to evade capture on his motorcycle. During the pursuit, he is reported to have fired upon a police team, injuring ASI Shankar Singh. The police returned fire, leading to Singh sustaining injuries. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The injured ASI's condition is stable and out of danger. A separate case has been registered concerning the firing incident and the attack on the police personnel. Raja Singh was a resident of Cheema Kalan in Tarn Taran district and was wanted for the aforementioned murder.
