Altrincham Bar's Licence Surrendered Amid Violence Claims
15 Apr
Summary
- Bar's licence surrendered after a court-issued closure order expired.
- Council cited severe violence, including a 17-year-old's assault.
- Bar faced highest violent incidents and drug activity claims.

A bar in Altrincham, identified as a 'significant crime generator' by council officials, has had its licence surrendered. Manchester Magistrates' Court had previously issued a closure order for Traders Tiki Bar following multiple severe violence incidents this year. These incidents included a 17-year-old gang member assaulting a man and patrons turning street furniture into weapons during an attempt to assault door staff.
Trafford Council stated that the bar's owners surrendered the licence ahead of a hearing after the closure order expired. This surrender prevents the premises from operating as a licensed venue. Reports indicate the bar had the highest number of violent incidents in Trafford, despite operating only three days weekly. Evidence of drug-related activity outside the premises was also cited.
