On Thursday, October 2nd, 2025, two members of the Rohit Godara-Goldy Brar-Virender Charan gang were arrested following a gunfight with police on the Jaitpur-Kalindi Kunj Road in New Delhi. The suspects, identified as Rahul and Sahil, hail from Panipat and Bhiwani in Haryana.
According to investigators, the men had been taking instructions from foreign-based gangster Rohit Godara, who was working with Goldy Brar and Virender Charan, to eliminate stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui. Faruqui, who won the reality show Bigg Boss in 2024, has amassed a massive following of 14.2 million on Instagram.
The suspects allegedly conducted reconnaissance in Mumbai and Bengaluru to track Faruqui's movements before the botched assassination attempt. Rahul, who received a gunshot wound, was also wanted in connection with a triple murder that took place in Yamunanagar, Haryana, last December.
Firearms used in the encounter and a motorcycle were seized by the police. Rahul was taken to a hospital for treatment, while Sahil was arrested at the scene.
