The Akola police's Local Crime Branch swiftly apprehended a suspect in a brutal murder case, solving it in just 12 hours. The accused, identified as 41-year-old Yuvraj Tangle, allegedly committed the crime due to suspicion of an illicit relationship between the victim and his wife.
The grim discovery was made on May 22 when the body of an unidentified young man was found near a railway underpass in the Bodarkhed farmland area. The victim's face had been severely damaged with a stone, and he was found wearing only pants with a T-shirt wrapped around his neck.
Initially reported to Borgaon Manju Police, the investigation was soon taken over by the Local Crime Branch under the direction of Superintendent of Police Archit Chandak. Multiple teams worked tirelessly, examining missing persons reports from surrounding districts.
A crucial breakthrough came from an informant, revealing that a youth from Yavatmal, later identified as Vicky alias Bablu Bhende, 19, had been missing since the night of May 21. Coordination with Avdhutwadi police station confirmed his identity as the deceased.
Further investigation into Bhende's recent activities and personal connections ultimately led the police to Tangle, resulting in his prompt arrest.
