Aiken Man Accused of $1,700 Phone Theft at Knifepoint

Aiken, South Carolina – Quarmaine Jones, 33, was apprehended on June 21st for an alleged armed robbery at the Knights Inn on Richland Avenue. Responding officers from the Aiken Department of Public Safety met with a 29-year-old victim who reported being robbed at knifepoint.
The stolen item was a cell phone with an estimated value of $1,700. Jones has been booked into the Aiken County detention center and faces charges including three counts of armed robbery and two counts of possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
This is not Jones's first encounter with the law for similar alleged actions. In August 2023, he faced charges after two individuals accused him of threatening them with a knife at a local Days Inn. In that instance, Jones had reportedly entered a room without permission before brandishing a knife.
