In a case solved with cutting-edge technology, authorities have arrested a man, his mother, and stepfather in Delhi for the murder of his live-in partner. The victim's body was discovered on February 6, concealed in a cemented drain on the Yamuna Expressway in Agra, her face disfigured in an apparent attempt to conceal her identity.
Using Artificial Intelligence, police were able to reconstruct the victim's face. This reconstruction, shared through media platforms, was instrumental in her identification by her sister on Monday, February 10. The sister's subsequent complaint led to an FIR being filed for murder, evidence destruction, and criminal conspiracy.
Investigations revealed the victim, originally from Mahoba district, had been living with the main accused, Sunny Kumar, since 2021. Their relationship reportedly soured when Sunny pressured her into participating in his prostitution racket, a demand she refused. Frequent arguments also arose due to Sunny's other relationships.
Following a heated argument on February 4, Sunny allegedly strangled the woman. His mother and stepfather then assisted him in disposing of the body, wrapping it, sealing it, and driving it to a deserted stretch of the Yamuna Expressway on the night of February 4 before returning to Delhi.
