Dance Studio Becomes Brawl Zone Over Property Dispute

An altercation erupted at a dance academy in Thaltej, Ahmedabad, on December 4th, allegedly stemming from a property dispute. Individuals claiming to operate a nearby hotel stormed the academy, accusing its management of illegal occupation and demanding an immediate vacating of the premises.
During the confrontation, academy staff were subjected to verbal abuse and physical assault. One staff member reported being grabbed by the neck, pushed, and injured on the knee while attempting to intervene. A senior choreographer was reportedly pulled by her hair and pushed against a wall, sustaining an injury near her eye.
The dispute also resulted in property damage, with a speaker allegedly flung to the floor, causing an estimated loss of Rs 20,000. The academy's management claims their three-year contract had expired but they had been assured of an extension. A formal complaint has been filed with Vastrapur police.
