The Agra Police Commissionerate has taken swift action, suspending three police officials and transferring a senior officer. These measures follow serious allegations of third-degree torture inflicted upon a man during an interrogation at the Kiraoli police station. The incident has prompted an order for a high-level investigation into the matter.
A 35-year-old man, identified as Raju, claims he was subjected to inhumane treatment for two days from December 20. He was reportedly called in for questioning regarding the suspicious death of farmer Vanveer Singh. Raju alleges police beat him severely and used other brutal methods to extract a confession.
Following public outcry over the alleged police brutality, the Commissionerate confirmed the suspensions and transfer. An impartial investigation is currently underway, led by Additional Police Commissioner Rambadan Singh. Authorities have assured that strict action will be taken once the investigation report is finalized, underscoring the seriousness of the accusations.
