On 2025-11-13, AFL icon Iain 'Fingers' Findlay, 77, was the victim of a shocking alleged hit-and-run incident on Melbourne's Monash Freeway. According to reports, Findlay was driving when a man threw rocks at his car. When Findlay exited his vehicle to confront the other driver, the man allegedly rammed his car straight into Findlay, trapping him underneath and dragging him for around 80 meters down the freeway.
Findlay suffered multiple severe injuries, including a painful burn on his leg. Doctors at The Avenue Hospital in Melbourne have informed him that he may need to spend the next month in the hospital undergoing skin graft procedures. The 77-year-old footy legend, who has previously worked as an advocate representing players at the AFL tribunal, is currently recovering from the traumatic ordeal.
The driver of the other vehicle allegedly fled the scene before being stopped by other motorists and arrested by police. Authorities are now investigating the incident, which they believe stemmed from a road rage altercation between the two drivers.
