Actor's Vote Stolen on Election Day!

Actor Akshaya Hariharan reported a deeply unsettling experience during the Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections on Election Day 2026. Upon arriving at her polling station in Adyar, Chennai, she was informed that her vote had already been cast by another individual. Hariharan confirmed that while her personal details matched the records, the photograph associated with the cast vote was not hers. She expressed concern over the apparent lack of rigorous verification at the booth.

Despite the circumstances, Hariharan was permitted to cast a tender vote. However, she stated that the process lacked transparency and did not feel like a genuine vote, especially as the ballot was not sealed in her presence. The actor conveyed her disappointment with the handling of the situation. She intends to file a formal complaint with the Returning Officer to address the alleged bogus vote incident and highlight the flaws in the electoral process.
