Liam Labourne received a three-year prison sentence at Hull Crown Court for using controlling and coercive behaviour against his girlfriend. His controlling actions included regular phone checks, during which he would assault the woman if unhappy with what he found.
One incident on July 29, 2024, saw Labourne slap, punch, and suffocate his girlfriend after discovering a birthday message from another man. The victim, fearing for her safety, fled the property with a knife. Labourne later confronted her again on August 4, 2024, while she was heading to the shops, approaching her car with a baseball bat and continuing his verbal abuse.
