In a tragic turn of events, authorities in New York have made several arrests in connection with the 2023 death of Robert De Niro's grandson, Leandro Anthony De Niro-Rodriguez. The 19-year-old's death was ruled an accidental drug overdose, with the New York City Chief Medical Examiner determining that he died from the toxic effects of a deadly cocktail of substances, including fentanyl, bromazolam, alprazolam, 7-aminoclonazepam, ketamine, and cocaine.
Now, more than 2 years later, the Drug Enforcement Administration confirms that 5 individuals have been arrested and charged with "death resulting from the sale of narcotics" in relation to Leandro's tragic passing. This comes after a woman was previously apprehended for allegedly selling drugs to the teen.
Leandro's mother, Drena De Niro, had previously taken to social media to claim that someone had sold her son "fentanyl laced pills that they knew were laced," leading to his untimely demise. The latest arrests by authorities suggest a concerted effort to hold those responsible for this devastating loss accountable.
