Faheem Ansari, who was acquitted in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks case, has been informed by the Maharashtra government that he may take up any job not requiring police character verification. This submission was made to the Bombay High Court ahead of the 17th anniversary of the devastating attacks.
Ansari had petitioned the High Court for a police clearance certificate to work as an autorickshaw driver. The government had previously stated he remained under watch due to suspected ties to a banned terror outfit, leading to the rejection of his application. However, the government has now submitted a list of jobs that mandate such certificates, implying Ansari is free to take other employment.
