An anti-narcotics operation in Thane's Diva area led to the arrest of three individuals and the seizure of 24.2 kg of weed, with an estimated value of Rs 6 lakh. The targeted raid, executed on Saturday by the Mumbra police, was prompted by specific intelligence.
Authorities suspect the apprehended individuals are integral to an active interstate drug trafficking syndicate. A case has been registered at the Mumbra police station under the NDPS Act, initiating a broader investigation into the narcotics network operating within the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
The ongoing probe, spearheaded by PSI Ramkrishna Dalvi, is actively working to uncover the source of the seized contraband and identify additional members of the syndicate. Since January 2026, police actions have resulted in the arrest of 98 suspects and the seizure of narcotics valued at Rs 48.5 crore, alongside over 970 actions against drug consumption.
