Summary
- Couple arrested after 22 years for a 2004 murder in Outer Delhi.
- Motive stemmed from a long-standing monetary dispute with the victim's father.
- Accused fled and were declared proclaimed offenders in 2006.

A 14-year-old girl's murder in Nangloi, Outer Delhi, has seen a breakthrough 22 years later with the arrest of a couple from Bihar. Police apprehended Sikander, 60, and Manju, 55, on February 11, 2026. The crime occurred on April 22, 2004, when the teenager was alone at her residence.
Investigators revealed that the motive behind the brutal act was a significant monetary dispute. The prime accused, Sikander, was a close friend and contractor colleague of the victim's father. Sikander alleged that he was owed wages for years and had not received a promised plot of land. This long-standing grievance allegedly led Sikander and his wife to plot the revenge killing.
The couple had been missing since the incident and were declared proclaimed offenders in 2006. Despite extensive efforts and raids across multiple states, they remained at large until a dedicated crime branch team traced them to Bihar's Banka district. The team camped in the area for 15 days before successfully apprehending the suspects.
