The trees were illicitly harvested from a cremation ground situated in Manakpur village. Authorities intercepted the suspects during a routine patrol at Ledi Chowk.
The incident came to light when a police team stopped a pickup vehicle, discovering it laden with rosewood pieces. The occupants could not offer a credible reason for possessing the wood. This led to their immediate arrest and the seizure of the vehicle.
Further investigations revealed the extent of the illegal logging operation. A case has been officially registered at the Chhachhrauli police station against the arrested individuals, who have since been remanded to judicial custody pending further legal proceedings.
